Rice field sky - Madgascar south central highlands

Beautiful Madagascar rice field and clear sky!
Madagascar has the worlds highest per capita
rice consumption!
But its can't grow enough rice to feed itself!
The current population is 20 million, half of which is under 20 yrs old
The population will double in 20 years.
This idyllic scene shows land that has been deforested for rice cultivation  and
firewood harvesting
It is on the border
of the protected tropical forest, wildlife and lemur haven called
Ranaomafana  National Park
